Art and Culture
• Taos is a major art center with innumerable galleries, museums, a community theater, performing arts group, orchestra, chorus and chamber music group. Check out the Harwood Museum and the Taos Museum of Art for starters. Much of the Taos experience centers around its ambiance and adobe. Some Taos adobes, like the San Francisco de Assisi Church, are among the world’s most photographed and painted structures.
• Every year, the people of Taos celebrate Yuletide in Taos, Dec. 1– 31, which includes dozens of events, ranging from an arts and crafts fair to Baroque holiday concerts and traditional Taos Pueblo religious dances.
