Angel Fire Resort hosts
New Mexico Appreciation Day
For the Chronicle
ANGEL FIRE — All New Mexico residents are invited to ski and snowboard free Friday, March 28.
Angel Fire Resort reaches the end of a near record-setting winter season this week with the final day of skiing and snowboarding set for Sunday, March 30.
Before closing, the resort will host its annual New Mexico Appreciation Day Friday, March 28. All New Mexico residents with proof of residency are invited to enjoy a free day on the slopes. Proof of residency includes any valid, state-issued photo ID or current utility bill. Children and dependents are covered by proof of residency of the head-of-household. Angel Fire Resort currently has 100 percent of its mountain trails open and a 53-inch base, with fantastic spring skiing conditions.
“In spite of expert predictions for a dry La Nina winter, we enjoyed just the opposite,” says Dave Dekema, director of Marketing for Angel Fire Resort. “It started snowing in early December and kept on coming all through the season. New Mexico skiers and snowboarders have their own systems for predicting the weather. They remained optimistic, and showed up with passes in hand and geared for fun starting Day One. New Mexico Appreciation Day is our way of saying thanks to the locals who continue to find their winter fun here in the Southern Rockies.”
Angel Fire Resort is offering lodging and ticket packages for the remaining week, starting at $69 per person. Visit www.angelfireresort.com for additional details or call 800-633-7463.
