New management faces at Angel Fire Resort

For the Chronicle

ANGEL FIRE – Angel Fire Resort has announced the hiring of new managers in several key roles, including Chief Financial Officer, Director of Sales, and Development Manager.
“Over the course of the past year, Angel Fire Resort has directed its energy to a renaissance of change and progression with a renewed passion,” says Jon Reveal, chief operating officer for Angel Fire Resort. “Not only do these new hires share in the common goal of making the resort the best it can be but they all possess the skills and experience to help get us there.”
John Kitts: Chief Financial Officer
Kitts is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara, and has more than 20 years experience in the ski and golf resort development industry. As CFO for Angel Fire Resort Operations, Kitts will oversee all financial operations for the resort, including business plans, budgets, cash flow, cash management, quarterly financial statements, monthly operating reports and banking relations.
Prior to taking the job at Angel Fire Resort, Kitts resided in Durango, Colorado, where he spent four years in consulting and investment management. He has held senior financial management positions with a variety of ski and golf resorts, including Kirkwood Ski Resort, Intrawest, Telluride Ski & Golf Company and Tubac Golf Resort & Spa. Resort operations, real estate development and credit facilities are among his many strengths.

Linda Howell: Director of Sales
Linda Howell, a native of Scotland, has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry.
Howell joined the Angel Fire Resort management team January 14 to promote the resort’s group sales effort for conference and recreation activities. As of this spring she will also be responsible for directing the hotel and property management reservations staff to maximize transient revenue.
Prior to her move to Angel Fire, Howell served as Director of Catering and Convention Services at the Albuquerque Embassy Suites, which has more than 30,000 square feet of meeting and function space. Howell’s twenty years in the hospitality industry has included top markets such as London, Washington DC, Boston, San Francisco and Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Howell is an avid hiker, tennis player and runner.

Helio (“Ice”) Sanchez: Development Manager
Sanchez, a resident of Angel Fire for the past 14 years, has joined the resort team as development manager. Sanchez will work with the director of development on a number of high-profile projects, including construction of the resort’s new multi-million dollar country club, the Angel Fire Resort Hotel remodel and the continuing construction of the Valley of the Utes subdivision.
A local contractor, Sanchez has owned and operated his own construction design and consulting business for the past several years. He also worked as the building inspector for the Village of Angel Fire, a position that provided him with in-depth knowledge of state and local building regulations. He is experienced in both residential and commercial high-rise construction, and plans on living in Angel Fire “forever.”

Dan Cahall: Resort Chef
Dan Cahall recently accepted the position of Chef for Angel Fire Resort after a two month trial period. He will be responsible for designing new menus for all resort food and beverage venues, including the Branding Iron, Summit Haus, Country Club, Village Haus, Lazy Lizard and resort catering and banquets. He will also oversee department personnel training and budget.
Cahall was born and raised in Albuquerque, where he honed his craft. He was the top chef for a four star restaurant, and worked in food and beverage operations for the Hyatt Resort, Marriott Uptown, the Marriott Pyramid, Stephens and Scalo. Cahall worked as a Food Service Director for four years with Aramark, one of the largest food corporations in North America, and was also a part of the opening team for Red Robin, Texas Land & Cattle, Black Eyed Pea, Outback, and Samurai Sushi & Grill.
Cahall says he was attracted to Angel Fire by the hospitable people and the beauty of the mountains. His hobbies include skiing, golf, painting, poetry and of course…cooking.
